The Good Darkness
by Fotoula Reynolds
Words of poets
Hundreds of years
Dead hum melodically
Under the stars
The night owl
Is perched in
The old oak tree
A wise light
Mother said
The sky is black
For eyes to rest
So keep your
Dreams alive
Till morning
That’s why the
Sun rests
The mystery of
Night time keeps
The thunder of
Excitement near
As fears vanish
The child sleeps
Under the twinkle
Of a little music
In the good darkness
